Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP) is a Medicaid program that provides services to medically fragile children under the age of 21 in need of skilled nursing care and personal care support in their homes and community. GAPP is not a waiver but state planned services. Families eligible for Medicaid can apply for GAPP and do not need to meet the same level of care as they would in a skilled nursing facility or an institution. The child must have a medical necessary need. What that means: in order to care for the child outside of a skilled facility the services are desperately needed, and without the services the child would be remanded to a skilled nursing facility.
Should your child have such a need, ask your doctor for a referral to Alpha Comfort Care and we take care of the rest. Our goal is to help families navigate a complex service system.
Services include:
Skilled nursing services by a registered nurse

- Monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration & temperature
- Assistance with ambulation & transfers
- IV therapies
- Wound care
- Tube feedings etc.
- Gastrointestinal disorders
